Safe and Welcoming Award

The Youth Club has received Somerset County Council's Safe and Welcoming Award in recognition of it safe practices and popular appeal to young people. The club was required to build a portfolio containing witness statements, policies , health and safety practice and building safety details in order to obtain the award. We are very grateful to Kayleigh Smith , our youth worker , her colleagues at the Community Youth Project and the Trustees of the Community Hall who all contributed in some way to our being able to met the standard required by the County Council. We have successfully applied for a grant of £3470 which will ensure we can employ our youth worker for the next 13 months. We would like to thank the County Youth Service for this grant.
The Youth Club meets on Wednesday evening from 7- pm in the Community Hall in term time and is open to children and young people aged 11 and over. Weekly subscriptions are £1.50 . WE have a range of activities and this summer term look forward to be able to use the tennis court and have some coaching. We would like to thank the Parish Council for their grant of £300 which we will use to purchase tennis equipment and cooking equipment.
