Where to access advice on scams, frauds, etc.

May 22, 2018

At our annual liaison meeting with Parish & Town Councils in April, concern was raised about scams and frauds which might be happening locally; I have been asked to make you aware of how to access information/advice.

Visit the Police website at: https://www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/search/  type “scams” into the search bar and you will see those currently featured. Another link for fraud is: https://www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/advice/property-and-money/fraud/. Both these sites have tabs with more useful advice on criminal behaviour.

Search - Avon and Somerset Constabulary

Search results. Your search returned no results.. About us; Freedom of information; Jobs and volunteering; Privacy policy; Terms and conditions; Copyright © 2018 Avon and Somerset Police.

Other useful links on how to protect yourself online are: https://www.takefive-stopfraud.org.uk/advice/  and https://cyberaware.gov.uk. There is also a useful booklet entitled “The Little Book of Big Scams” (courtesy of the Metropolitan Police) that you can view online: https://www.met.police.uk/globalassets/downloads/fraud/the-little-book-of-big-scams.pdf

Kind regards
