Elections to Somerset County Council

March 14, 2017

Elections to Somerset County Council will take place on Thursday 4 May. There are 55 seats to be filled when residents go to the ballot box and we want as many people as possible to get involved in the democratic process.

As a key contact in your community, we would very much appreciate any help your council can give as we remind people to make sure they are registered to vote and encourage them to cast their vote on 4 May.

To help with this, two posters have been produced by the Electoral Commission. If possible, we would be very grateful if you could print copies and display them where they can be seen by the public – for example on parish and town notice boards.

Rather than sending large attachments, the posters are available as PDFs on the Council’s website http://www.somerset.gov.uk/councillors-and-democracy/elections/ You can see them as the first two items under the ‘Information and Resources’ section on the right hand side: ‘Elections – Register to vote poster’ and ‘Elections – Find out how to vote poster’.
